Restarting

While using Bamboo Splash...I created this art piece based on one of my characters I created in my teen years. He has the power to control lightning as does everyone on his planet. Using this new product...I start completely over with my skillset as it seems. However, it's a lot faster to improve on. Much practice is needed.
Much more refinement is needed however, a decent first start on this hopeful love of this new product and how it can make my art work better in the long run.

Figure Drawing

This is a reference that I used with other heavy referencing to create my works and will continue using references until I am able and confident enough to do it without references.

These are drawings, practicing figure drawing using heavy referencing in doing so. The top is figures drawn with references without a certain space that corresponds with each. The bottom uses space each individualized between the figures.
Though I used references I have a lot to learn when it comes to figure drawing. There are many inconsistencies within all of my attempts. However, I will continue to improve and get better with continuous practice. Especially this summer.

Other work

This includes other work that I've done related to digital illustration.  And other independant work.

These photos were all taken by me and put together in Photoshop to create the desired effect I wanted.

I created a painting for a friend and she wanted me to paint her an album cover of the beatles. Here is the album cover to the right and my finished painting to the left.

School Stuff

Even though Photoshop Elements 9, has served me well over the course of the year, I became acquainted with Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5 and InDesign. However, I have yet to expand my horizons on these programs.

Photoshop+Inspiration

This is a title page from another book I'm currently writing. This is when I first started incorporating backgrounds to my illustrations. However, my skillset is to be improved on; I am happy with the results that took place. I am still working on this Illustration and the book itself as well.
This is when I started pulling images from the internet to aid in the design of my characters and improvement of my art work.
The drawing to the right is the result from the model to the left. Though, they look alike, I only used these images for reference to create my final illustration. This is also a title page from another book I'm currently writing.
This model (from Prince Caspian and othr movies), looked a lot like the main character from my book.

This is a continuation of photoshop and improvement upon such. I have also included more title pages of my books that I am writing.

Photoshop fun!

These are my first two drawings ever done on photoshop.  They got me familiar with photoshop and played with technique. These accidents turned into successes for my skillset at the time.
When starting Photoshop, I was prepared because of paint. So I could create without so much limitations.

*Controlled*

As I continued drawing in paint, I continued to improve and took more time and care with what I was drawing instead of just scribbling with my mouse on the computer.

I drew these comics for a book I am currently writing. Though, the skilll set and craftsmanship of this is bad; still tells a story with my work. I also advanced this to photoshop. I would like to redo this completely.

Title Pages

I write, and draw title pages for my books. This is still in paint mixed with microsoft word. It's about five girls, each from very different worlds going on an adventure; fighting monsters, bad guys, learning new things, and finding themselves as they continue on the treacherous path...seeming to destruction. They fight tyranny and evil to save the universe. Book completed* haven't found a title.

Comix fun!

Even though my skills weren't the best, when creating these; it gave me another outlet to my work instead of just drawing in a sketchbook. I found a further process.

I drew each image separately in paint, and put them all together in an orderly fashion to create a story with my comic strip. I then put it all into a word document; chalk full of three pages worth of comic.

I've spent some time in the paint program to create comic strips. With these programs being primitive in choices; you haven't much decision to make in drawing these strips. Working with what I had was the only thing I could do to practice and to create.
